Routine and Preventative Care
- We are particularly concerned with the practice of medicine, both as an art and as a science. To that end, and to allow time for a complete evaluation, we recommend a comprehensive history and physical examination.
- Preventive Care focuses on preventing illness, and preventing the progression of chronic conditions by detecting problems before they become serious. The early detection and treatment of high blood pressure is an excellent example of preventive care. Use of the Pap smear for early detection of cervical cancer in women is another case of preventive care in action.
- We have developed guidelines that define what tests we feel you need, and how often they should be performed.
- Please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Starke to discuss the issue of preventive care, or the office to schedule anything that is due.
